This Italian flick about the work of a gynaecologist starts off rather weightily. Perhaps it's an 'issues' film? But little as I know about the work of a 'lady's doctor', when this quack starts kiss-chasing a ticklish and clothes-shedding young blonde around his surgery I do know one thing for sure: this should not be happening. So it must be a comedy then.

Unfortunately, more so than even the typical Italian comedy, it's been assembled in an almost entirely random order, thus it's a challenge to deduce more than the vaguest idea of who's who and what's going on. The main attraction is Paola Senatore, but you can also see Lorraine De Selle kissing another woman on the lips - fully clothed, but that's enough don't you think?

This clip starring Dirce, little that it has to do with the plot or anything else, is straightforward: she rises from the couch after an examination and puts on her clothes. If you're wondering why the doctor has such a cavalier attitude to the voluptuous naked female striding seductively across his surgery, it's because he's overworked. Today he's standing in for a richer and more successful colleague - which is the entire premise apparently.

Italian trash in which four escaped female convicts hijack a bus full of young tennis players and hole up in the house of the very judge who sentenced them to prison in the first place. Basically it rips off the plot of Killer's Moon then, but is a qualified success due to paying attention to the basics such as characterisation, pacing and especially cinematography. It alternates an atmosphere of sweat-drenched realism with starkly shadowed gothic menace.

Dirce plays a shy and primly dressed young thing - possibly the team nurse - whose fringe is forever falling in front of her eyes. We have the advantage over her of knowing glamorous convict Marina Daunia (cf. Casa privata per le SS) is an insatiable sexual predator skilled at subtly manoeuvring herself into positions of ascendancy over the weak and vulnerable. One to keep an eye on. If only she'd known...

Alone together, Marina sets about Dirce in the approved and correct method of seducing a reluctant young woman, ie. tanking her up on sherry then making understated patting motions on the cushion of the sofa immediately adjacent to herself, here reinforcing the gesture with a gun (she's an escaped desperado and hasn't got all day). The problem with this method is it takes an incredibly swift motion of the hand to get it inside the victim's blouse for any sort of 'action' before she starts wriggling and squealing more than is consistent with her having loyal friends on call in the room next door.

The second attempt is more direct: the good old hand-across-the-mouth-and-pin-her-down-by-the-shoulders trick. Dirce was off her guard and Marina made the most of it, chloroform or no. The plan would have worked too if it hadn't been for a fatal flaw: that rugged young man Dirce was nursing for a bullet wound. The resulting fiasco is enormous: the naked young girl trying to drag off Marina by the ear as she flails about on top of the wounded man, half the house coming running with guns, everyone screaming and shouting... How do people ever live these things down? Mortifying. But for a certain kind of dysfunctional personality these scenes are practically an everyday occurrence. Marina goes on to play for the girl yet again for instance, but that's for another time...

A piece of voyeuristic sadism from pretentious Italian sleaze merchant Alberto Cavallone. It's surprising he found three such beautiful actresses to volunteer as victims for such explicit degradation, and as pure cinema it turns out a lot better than it ought to be.

The plot is that a misogynistic photographer subjects young women to his sexual whims through any means from moral blackmail to outright kidnapping. The exquisitely elegant Dirce is his original model, not just the perfect odalisque but a grade A masochist with it. But the pair are getting tired of each other. The heart of the first clip is an erotic session with a photographer's lamp as proxy for actual human contact. At the risk of stating the obvious, this model has a wonderfully natural dark hairy muff.

Clip number two moves a bit closer to real physical intimacy; the photographer uses his bare foot to roughly manipulate the ever-submissive Dirce this time. It's the beginning of the real phase of self-willed degradation for this woman, but it just gets scatological and pointless from now on so I've cut things short here.

A new low for Dirce as she takes a small role in this Italian mish-mash of primitive comic double act and sometimes pornographic sexual vignettes. She must have had either a really bad agent or a drug problem to be forever doing garbage like this. The best piece of comedy is when the bearded one falls out of the rowing boat at the start. The best piece of erotica is probably this night club act. Three posh birds wearing no pants spar on stage with some show off. I'm pleased to say it ends with the demise of Show Off. This might have been the nearest the Italian home video market of the time came to sophistication (I bet you thought they were all three going to piss on him at the end).

More of the usual exposure and degradation for Dirce in this late period giallo, a very 'eighties piece of glam and misogyny.

So what's going on here then? As far as I can gather, Dirce is in this room with an angry-looking middle-aged bloke who, after the obligatory slapping around and throttling, gets his knees on her chest and pulls her pants down (rather expertly - he wasn't even looking), giving our foxy starlet a chance to reveal what she's paid to reveal thrashing her legs around with her boots still on, and the cameraman incidentally a chance to reveal his eye for the finer kind of detail.

Halfway through Dirce gets some sort of supernatural scare and the rape turns into a slow love scene. So that's all right then. After a brief and tasteful shot of out-of-focus 'pubes', exit one nude ascending a staircase in contemplative mood, even letting the hint of a wistful smile pass across her ruffled but ever-elegant features.
