Love blossoms between inmates of a post-Soviet eye hospital in this dreamy romance. Inga is blind, has ways of getting by (such as how to dress up for a date without turning out a right mess), but has hopes of a miracle operation to restore her sight. Her new beau on the other hand is just on the ward to recover from a clout in the eye during a game of ice hockey. But after the pair fall in love he develops psychosomatic blindness just so he can be with Inga for longer. Sounds like clinginess with a vengeance to me but it takes all sorts.

Most of the romance takes place in derelict graffiti-strewn institutional basements (this being a prime example of the socialist-shambolist style) but the final scene has Inga in her young man's bed; his heroically understanding mum left the flat and sat on the staircase for the night.
