Reviews and pictures of actress Tabea Blumenschein naked in "Bildnis einer Trinkerin. Aller jamais retour" and "Madame X - Eine absolute Herrscherin".
Born: 1952 Country: West Germany
A performance artist with a strange calm beauty and an acting style seemingly inspired by marionettes; typically she just makes jerky angular movements accompanied by the bare minimum of changes to her facial expression. Also a noted costume designer and sometime director.
Tabea Blumenschein (born 11 August 1952) is a German actress, film director and screenwriter. She was a member of the performance art and music group Die Tödliche Doris. snippet from Wikipedia

Playful piece with Tabea perfectly cast in the title role. Madame X, an oriental pirate queen, calls out to women leading humdrum lives throughout the world with promises of romance, excitement and gold. We follow the adventures of several ladies who drop everything to join her using whatever mode of transport that comes most readily to hand (rickshaw, roller skates etc.).
As you might guess from the synopsis this is one of those avant garde feminist works in which lack of skill in the film-making department can be forgiven in the light of the eccentric and colourful settings, costumes and characters. As it happens this bunch didn't have much skill even in the way of amateur dramatics so the result is more than usually shambolic; it's basically an extended dressing-up game for grown-ups.
But who cares when some of the passably young and attractive shipmates are soon down to just grass skirts, garlands of beads, and flowers in their hair? It's just a matter of time before the first one flips and takes her pants off as well. To my delight this turned out to be Tabea, the ruthless Madame X dressing up in some weird topless and bottomless gear to put to death a mutinous lady crew member (Tabea was responsible for the costume design herself).

More dressing-up-games-as-cinema starring Tabea setting out on a round-the-clock bender through Berlin in this satire on drink, feminism and society. Which means she gets to indulge herself by staggering drunkenly about the city in bizarre costumes shadowed by a grey-hatted chorus solemnly droning out statistics about alcoholism. All good fun, and a fine showcase for the much-maligned German sense of humour.
In this clip Tabea hooks up with a bag lady (she's called Lutze apparently). After causing mayhem with octuple cognacs in a posh café they retire to a hotel suite to luxuriate in a bubble bath, together with the inevitable bottle of 'bubbly'.
