Krystyna Janda

Reviews and pictures of actress Krystyna Janda naked in "Przesluchanie" and "Dyrygent".
Krystyna Janda

Born: 1952   Country: Poland

A typical blue-eyed blonde Polish actress who could and did carry some weighty roles.

Krystyna Janda (born 18 December 1952, Starachowice, Poland) is a Polish film and theater actress best known, in the West, for playing leading roles in several films by Polish director Andrzej Wajda, including Man of Marble (Człowiek z marmuru, 1976) and Man of Iron (Człowiek z żelaza, 1981). In 1982, Janda played the lead character in Ryszard Bugajski's film Przesłuchanie (Interrogation), which first premiered 7 years later in 1989, following the collapse of communism. Despite the film's late release, she garnered international acclaim for her performance, including winning Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival and Polish Film Festival in 1990. In 1993, she was a member of the jury at the 43rd Berlin International Film Festival. Janda is also known for her leading role in the second episode of The Decalogue series of Krzysztof Kieślowski.   snippet from Wikipedia

Krystyna Janda from Dyrygent

A somewhat frumpily attired yet attractive married blonde violinst parries the romantic attentions of renowned conductor John Gielgud, all the while trying to pass herself off as Deirdre Barlow. Tough times for Krystyna in this lesser known work of acclaimed Polish director Andrzej Wajda.

This clip features two amusing scenes of marital intimacy. In the first the couple hurry back to their flat to make love, the lady still in her specs and lechery written all the handsome fellow's (Andrzej Seweryn) face. Krystyna, already having shed her raincoat, unbuttons her cardigan and loosens a few other articles as well, but things don't go 'all the way'. Probably due to her insisting on making a phone call before they'd even got down to the foreplay; though the way she slides her briefs over her hips while juggling the receiver is the very opposite of a passion-killer.

Later on there's some one-sided psychological warfare as hubby whips the bedsheet from under the sleeping Krystyna before stalking off to bed down on the floor of the children's room. A tactical mistake; that was bound to wake her up. Cue some fetchingly shy nude tippy-toeing as the wronged wife pads off to see what on earth's the matter now.

Krystyna Janda from Przesluchanie

When at the start of Jess Franco's classic 99 Women one of the convicts arrived at Devil's Island in a small motor boat still wearing her chorus line outfit I thought it was a uniquely stupid thing to see. Well I was wrong - about the uniqueness that is. In this gritty Polish drama about the repressions of the Communist era nightclub siren Krystyna is dragged into Police headquarters still fully tarted up and even unwilling to so much as take the fag out of her gob.

This is the sort of political drama that receives critical plaudits as a blow for freedom, as if unaware that Communists and Nazis made exactly the same sort of films with prisoners getting the chance to act noble in the face of oppression in exactly the same sort of ways. In fact the totalitarians could even claim some of the moral high ground, as their victims got to keep their clothes on and couldn't be accused of being hypocrites indulging in sado-masochistic sexual fantasies.

There's an extremely strong streak of masochism running through this film, which (apart from the superior camerawork) is the main thing that separates it from the usual WiP-flick nonsense. A Franco piece, while outwardly sympathising with the victims, tends to have the audience empathising with the whip-wielding sadists.

Female sexual masochism could hardly be more unambiguous than in the first clip where Krystyna is left in a blissful drunken daze after her brutal arrest, stripping and internal examination. In the second clip she strips defiantly in front of her tormentor, but was the menace only in her imagination? In the third clip she outright mixes up the relatively tender mercies of a torturer with memories of the caresses of a lover.
